Thorsten Bird:
I studied graphic-design from 1987-1991 in Hamburg, Germany. Since then i've been working in that profession, at first for an advertising agency, and now for a tv-print-magazine. Around 1999 I began to experiment in sound art, "painting aural pictures", by processing found sounds and field recordings. I'm doing this whenever Ihave the time. The result is two solo cds, a collaboration cd, and this concert-collaboration.

Role in Simultaneous Translation:
The Same Room Left will be the one element of the project which is not based on the manipulation of a live stream. Thosten Bird and Meyer Zwo will broadcast prerecorded readings sent ahead of time by Miguel Ramos. The readings will be processed and then streamed to Spain. This is an alternate delivery of the text in which the cadences and nuances will be different than the live version.

Solo Cds:

2002: "Low Termites"

2004: "Done Before Dawn"

Collaboration CDs:

2003: "The Dictionary Project" with John Roach
